Union Station

The Rhode Island Foundation commissioned a model of their home, Providence’s historic Union Station Building. Rhode Islanders of a certain age will remember catching trains from this station as well as the auto tunnel that used to go underneath it. Whatever the iteration, the Union Station building is an indelible part of downtown streetscape, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to model it.

The trickiest part of this build was that the model went on temporary display at the Convention Center for the Foundation’s annual meeting, and was then moved to Union Station for permanent display in the lobby. LEGO models do not like to be moved! This was not my first rodeo, however, and I was sure to create the structure in snap-together sections!

At the Convention Center!

This model was built in sections that snap together.
